Ridgewood Industries Recalls Four-Drawer Chests Due to Tip-Over and Entrapment Hazards; Sold at Kmart and Sears at both Stores and Online
The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Consumers should stop using the product immediately.
Name of Product: Belmont Four-Drawer Chest
Units: About 1 million
Manufacturer: Ridgewood Industries
Hazard: The recalled chests are unstable and can tip over if not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children. Additionally, those models of chests over 30 inches tall do not comply with the performance requirements of the U.S. voluntary industry standard (ASTM F2057-14).
Incidents/Injuries: No tip-over incidents were reported on this model. Regardless, Ridgewood Industries and the CPSC encourage you to attach all chests and dressers to the wall. Please visit the CPSC website www.anchorit.gov for more information.
Description:This recall includes Belmont four-drawer chests with plastic drawer glides. The recalled chests were sold in two sizes and four colors, each with its own model number, which can be found on the instruction manual that came with the item.

Consumers should immediately stop using any recalled chest that is not properly anchored to a wall and place them in an area that children cannot access. Contact Ridgewood to receive a free anchoring kit. Consumers can request a one-time, free in-home installation of the wall anchor kit.
